Fungu Yasini is a small island north of Dar es Salaam , the capital of Tanzania . The uninhabited, vegetation-free sandbank is just above the sea surface on the northwest corner of a three-kilometer long and a maximum of 1.4 km wide coral reef . Fungu Yasini is one of the four islands in the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve .
