Fureai Kippu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fureai Kippu ( Japanese ふ れ あ い 切 符 , Eng . "Mutual Contact Ticket", Kunrei transcription : Hureai Kippu ) is a Japanese sectoral currency in the health sector , which was introduced in 1995 by the Sawayaka Welfare Foundation.

The unit of currency is one hour of work for an elderly person in need. The hours worked can be saved up in order to purchase care yourself in old age, or they can be passed on to others in order to look after relatives, for example. This system enables people to stay in their own housing situation for a much longer time. The use of a senior citizens' residence can be postponed significantly, thereby realizing savings for the health system.

Care from people paid in Fureai Kippu is often preferred to care from nationally paid service providers, possibly because there is a personal relationship and a stronger sense of community among the users of the care grant.
