Furl

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Furl (from English Frame Uniform Resource Locators ) was a free English-language web application for social bookmarks founded in 2003 , which was counted as Web 2.0 . The service ceased operations on April 17, 2009.

Furl was one of the providers of social bookmarks , which made it possible to save complete copies of individual web pages in personalized archives.

After registering with Furl, a bookmarklet could be integrated into the web browser , with which the page that was just called up in the browser could be copied completely into a personal Furl archive with a click of the mouse. Each Furl user had 5 GB of storage space available for this archive  . The saved pages were not changed when the original page was changed, so that only the page in the status at the time of saving was available. Furl passed into Diigo, which has more options and is particularly suitable for research and research.

The English word furl means to roll up (for example an umbrella).
