Furore

The furore describes a great sensation, a whirlwind, a sensation , furious applause or an impressive success. The word with positive connotations is used almost exclusively in the phrase to create a sensation . It was borrowed from Italian ( far furore , to make a furore ) at the beginning of the 19th century ; there the word furore stands for 'frenzy', ' ecstasy ' and goes back to the Latin furor 'rage' to furere 'rage', 'rage'.
