FusionForge is a project management and collaboration software . FusionForge allows, among other things, projects to host , versioning perform (with Bazaar , CVS , darcs , Git , Subversion and / or Mercurial ) and bug tracker and mailing lists to create.

History and kinship

FusionForge is free software and a descendant of Forge , a web-based project management and collaboration software. This was originally created for use on the SourceForge.net platform. FusionForge is under the GNU General Public License and is a spin-off that emerged from the GForge project . The spin-off occurred in February 2009 when some GForge developers continued development of GForge's old open source source code under the new name FusionForge, after the GForge Group shifted its focus to the proprietary GForge Advanced Server.

SourceForge was available as free software up to version 3, but is now sold commercially and proprietary. In addition, a SourceForge programmer is developing the software as an open source project under the name GForge . Another proprietary software was created under the name GForge AS . To avoid confusion around the name, the free version of the original GForge is continued as FusionForge .
