Génocidaire

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Génocidaire ( French : genocide ) refers to a person who was actively involved in the preparation or at a central point in the implementation of the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994 . In addition, it was the Génocidaires who developed Hutu power and made it strong. Many of these hard core genocide activists were organized in the Interahamwe and Impuzamugambi militias .

Since a very large part of the population was actively involved in the killings of the genocide in Rwanda, be it because they were given the order or because they were forced to do so, it is necessary to distinguish between those involved and the actual genocide activists .

Most murders have been carried out with a machete , often with severing limbs or performing mutilations first to prevent victims from escaping, such as chopping the Achilles tendon to prevent the victim from walking or other non-fatal injuries. Killing with a machete is a physically demanding activity, which is why it was partly carried out in organized shifts. 800,000 to 1,000,000 people were killed in just 100 days.

Many suspected génocidaires are in jail today. The main culprits must appear before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda . About more responsible were from the existing to 2012 Gacaca -Gerichten negotiated.
