The liquid manure bonus is a measure to promote biogas plants . It is intended to reduce harmful emissions and thus protect the environment .

advancement

With the amendment of the law for the priority of renewable energies in 2009 the liquid manure bonus was introduced for the first time. This promotes biogas plants whose substrate mixture consists of at least 30% liquid manure , i.e. animal excrement . The bonus consists of an increase in the basic remuneration for smaller systems with an output of up to 150  kilowatts and a bonus for systems up to a performance class of 500 kW. The aim of this funding is to ensure that, in addition to renewable raw materials , liquid manure, which would otherwise be carried onto the fields as fertilizer, is used for biogas production . In addition, this bonus is intended to make smaller systems more profitable. For this purpose, a tiered price with different remuneration rates was created, which is intended to particularly promote systems up to 150 kW.

In order to claim the liquid manure bonus, it is mandatory to keep an input material diary in which all operating materials are recorded in a controllable manner. If the system operator provides complete evidence, the liquid manure bonus is also granted.
