In addition, the OpenGeoDB Wiki was hosted on the GISWiki infrastructure until the beginning of 2012 . The focus of the OpenGeoDB project is on building a database that is as complete as possible with geographic coordinates for all places and postcodes for Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein.

The GISWiki also operated a news portal (GIS-News) and offers tools for georeferencing projects within Wikipedia.
