GMB (union)
The GMB is one of the largest trade unions in Great Britain with 600,000 members .
The GMB was founded on March 31, 1889. In 1924 the National Union of General and Municipal Workers emerged from a merger of the National Amalgamated Union of Labor , National Union of General Workers and the Municipal Employees Association . In 1982 it was in G eneral, M unicipal, B oilermakers and Allied Trade Union renamed.
The GMB is a member of the trade union umbrella organizations Trades Union Congress (TUC) and Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC).
