history

The hospital director i. In 1949, R. Hermann Böcking received a publisher's license for the “Procurement Service for Bulky Consumers”, today's GVmanager: Hospital director Hermann Böcking was already committed to popular nutrition through large kitchens in the 1920s. In October 1937 he played a key role in the conception of the first International Culinary Art Exhibition (IKA) in Frankfurt. The "large kitchen" that he had relocated was combined in 1938 with the official "communal catering" - bringing the press into line. Temporarily slowed down due to the war, Böcking resumed his life's work in 1949 and received a publishing license. In 1955 the “Procurement Service for Large Consumers” had over 5,000 readers. 1960 Hermann Böcking resigned as a publisher.

In 1970, the magazine was sold to Thalhammer Verlag and renamed "GV Großverblassung, the major special magazine for the NHV sector". In 1983 Annemarie Heinrichsdobler took over as editor-in-chief. In 1986 the Neuer Merkur publishing house became the new publisher.

In 1991 GV GROSSVERBRAUCHER was renamed GVmanager. In 2001 the GVmanager became part of the B&L Medien Gesellschaft, a publishing house with headquarters in Hilden and a new publishing branch in Munich.
