Gabriele Suhrborg (born Saigge, born May 31, 1959 in Haldern ) is a German artist and author.

Life

Gabriele Suhrborg was born as the third child of the married couple Friedrich and Maria Saigge. After completing secondary school, she began commercial training in real estate and housing. Since 1984 she has devoted herself increasingly to her creative work. In 1986 she married the entrepreneur Hans Dieter Suhrborg, son of the Lower Rhine artist Erna Suhrborg. She and her husband live in Wesel on the Lower Rhine and on Sylt.

The origin of her artistic work lies in dealing with people and faces. The most varied of modelable materials are used in the design of the unique pieces and create sculpted or painted works or collages. She is known as a versatile artist.

In the 1990s, she created her first gold and silver jewelry collection with precious and semi-precious stones.

Over the years she has devoted herself to the written word in addition to acting.

Several books have been published, including a. Dialogue 2011. This was followed by Gehe Wege and further text publications.

Since 2015 there have been exhibits for the outside area in the form of cast bronze sculptures, cast iron and steel elements.

Her work is regularly presented in exhibitions. Various works are in the public domain.

In 2017, Hans Dieter Suhrborg and Gabriele Suhrborg founded the Erna Suhrborg Art Prize for the first time in collaboration with the City of Wesel to promote female artists without academic artistic training. This prize is awarded every three years as part of a competition.
