Gaius Iulius Victor
Gaius Iulius Victor was a Roman rhetorician of the 4th century AD.
Victor may have been of Gallic origin. He wrote a handbook of rhetoric that has been handed down in full in a medieval manuscript from the 12th century (Cod. Vat. Ottob. Lat. 1968). In terms of content, the work is, as far as can be determined, a pure summary of older texts on rhetoric. For this very reason, however, it is relevant, among other things, for the text-critical reconstruction of Quintilian's corresponding text.
