The inscription ( CIL 13, 6470 )

Gaius Sanctinius Aeternus (full name form Gaius Sanctinius Gai filius Quirina Aeternus ) was a member of the Roman equestrian order ( Eques ) living in the 1st or 2nd century AD .

Based on an inscription that was found at Heilbronn-Böckingen fort and which is dated to 85/120, it is assumed that Aeternus was prefect . According to John Spaul , he was prefect of the Cohors I Helvetiorum , which was stationed in the province of Germania superior .

Aeternus was inscribed in the Quirina tribe .
