Gambia Adventurers

The Gambia Adventurers was a British trading company in the 17th century.

The company was founded in 1668 from the heavily indebted Company of Royal Adventurers trading to Africa . The new company was given a 10-year trading monopoly in the Gambia River area. After a small profit, after legal disputes in London, the trading monopoly of the Gambia Adventurers and the parent company was transferred to the Royal African Company in 1684 .
