GameRankings was a website that collected computer game ratings from online and offline sources to create a score , a number calculated from ratings from other magazines. Not all ratings that were linked on the GameRankings website were included, but only those from sources that were considered reliable and significant by the publishers.

The index included over 240,000 reviews on over 14,500 video games. The title with the highest rating from at least 20 reviews was Super Mario Galaxy , released for the Nintendo Wii , with an average of 97.64% from 78 reviews.

GameRankings belonged to CBS Interactive from 2008 . In December 2019, the website ceased operations, referred to the competitor website Metacritic and announced that GameRankings employees would work for Metacritic in the future.
