Gant (Zermatt)

Gant is a cable car station at the lower end of the Findel Glacier in the canton of Valais in Switzerland . It is located at 2223 m above sea level. d. M. three kilometers east of Zermatt on the Findelbach, which rises from the glacier of the same name . Gant is an important place for skiing and the starting point for alpine and glacier hikes. The valley stations of the chairlift to Blauherd and the aerial tramway to Hohtälli are located in Gant. Before the aerial tramway to Hohtälli was built, a ski lift led towards the Gornergrat / Stockhorn ski area. The detachable 6-seater chairlift has replaced the old gondola lift from the 1970s since 2016. The Gant station is only manned during the winter season, otherwise it is out of order.
