Kari Juhani "Gary" Sundgren (born October 25, 1967 in Vammala ) is a former Swedish football player .
career
Sundgren played in his youth with Västerås SK and IK Franke . In 1988 he moved to AIK Solna in the Allsvenskan . In his first season he made 17 appearances in the first division and remained a regular player in the following seasons. In 1992 he won the Swedish championship with the club, and in 1996 and 1997 he won the cup.
In 1997 Sundgren left Sweden to seek his fortune in Spain with Real Zaragoza . In 2001 he won the Copa del Rey, his only title in five years in the Primera División .
In the summer of 2002 he returned to AIK Solna and played for a year and a half for the club in the Swedish first division. He then let his career end with the lower class IFK Sollentuna and FC Djursholm .
Sundgren played 31 times for the Swedish national team between 1994 and 2002 . His only tournament was the 2000 European Championship , where Sweden failed in the preliminary round.
