The former Staufeneck restaurant at Fleischmannstrasse 10 / Kollwitzstrasse 2 in Esslingen am Neckar is a historic building by Hermann Falch .

history

Falch designed the restaurant, which, together with the outbuilding, garden and enclosure, is a listed building for the Esslingen brewery company. It was built in the years 1899/1900 as a three-story house on the corner of Fleischmannstrasse and Kollwitzstrasse. The restaurant and brewery were on the ground floor. In 1981 the third floor and the stairwell were destroyed by fire.

Falch chose “old German” style elements for the restaurant, such as half-timbered zones , Gothic cornices, the stepped gable and turrets placed across the corner. A wrought iron bracket for the tavern sign and the coat of arms reliefs with the building inscription “Anno 1900” are pseudo-medieval elements. On the facade facing Fleischmannstrasse there is a sundial , the background of which is a round arch niche with a painted Art Nouveau angel.

The original garden fence has also been preserved. In the north-east corner of the property is the two-story brick outbuilding.
