Prayer meeting (free church)

The prayer meeting or prayer time in various free church denominations a worship event in smaller groups on specific issues and concerns.

Prayer hours can have a thematic focus. In larger congregations there is a tradition of going to special topic-specific small prayer groups after the joint beginning for the intermediate part of the prayer meeting and ending the meeting together, often with singing.

The components of the prayer meetings vary. In addition to times of worship, prayer for one another or for a specific cause, they can also include breaking bread .
