Usability (gas technology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In gas technology, serviceability or determination of serviceability means to determine a possible leak in a gas line. To do this, it is necessary to determine the leakage of a gas line, which can be done by measurement or calculation.

Leakage measuring devices are required for measurement, which electronically determine the amount of gas lost in l / h. Then the following classification applies:

Usability of gas pipes
Leakage in l / h Usability
0 tight lines, mandatory for new systems.
smaller 1 Unlimited usability
1 to less than 5 Reduced usability. The line can remain in operation for four weeks, but it must be repaired during this time. The repair is deemed to have been completed with a main test in which the tightness must be determined.
from 5

No usability. The gas line is immediately blocked by the GVU or a contractor until it is repaired.

If there are several gas lines next to each other, for example in a (ventilated) shaft, the leakage quantities are to be added and the total value is to be used for assessment according to the table.
