Working dog sport

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Working dog sport (also IPO (-Sport) or eventing sport) is a dog sport for whose tests there are common rules within the FCI . These regulations, the International Examination Regulations, are abbreviated as IPO, which is used in some clubs to denote the sport.

In the context of working dog sport , dogs are led in various sports disciplines - called departments . That is tracking , submission and protection . Working dog tests are carried out as part of working dog sport. In addition to the working dog test, which includes all three departments and therefore requires the dog to be versatile, there are individual tests: tracking dog test and protection dog test.

The companion dog examination serves as an entrance examination into working dog sport .

In order to be allowed to take part in tests in working dog sport, the dog handlers must be organized in clubs that are affiliated to the FCI (via the umbrella organizations). These are on the one hand many dog sports clubs, the other race breed clubs that, in particular associations working dog breed, organize the training as part of the working dog sports.
