In metallography, a structural component is a single- or multi-phase area of ​​a structure that is visibly separated from other areas of the structure by interfaces . A multi-phase area is considered to be a coherent structural component if its phases were created under the same conditions and fixed volume fractions and morphologies are available for this area .
