The village is located five kilometers southeast of Asperhofen at the confluence of Schönbach and Koglbach and the junction of the state roads L2013, L2244 and L2245. The place used to consist of several farmsteads, including the stately Maishof , and is now characterized by single-family homes. The Geigelberg settlement further south is part of Sieghartskirchen . In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1821 Geigelberg is dominated by Maishof.
