Grabensee is a village and cadastral municipality of the market town of Asperhofen in Lower Austria. The village has 193 inhabitants (January 1, 2020).

The street village is located 1 km southeast of Asperhofen at the junction of the state roads L2271, L2232 and L2242. The village is dominated by agriculture and consists of numerous homesteads and some single-family houses. In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1821 Grabensee is a street village with several farmsteads, which are mainly located south of the village street.

Founded in 1754 and dedicated to St. Bartholomäus chapel is a simple baroque building with a tail gable. The tower is designed as a roof turret with a pyramid helmet.

history

Grabensee, together with the hamlets of Habersdorf and Kerschenberg and Griesmühle, all in contrast to Grabensee on the western side of the Great Tulln , formed an independent community from 1867 to 1972. From 1848 to 1867 and from 1972 it belonged to the municipality of Asperhofen.
