Swept also turned in the Heraldry the designation for the positioning of one or more shields as well as coat of arms figures and their individual parts. This applies when deviating from the normal representation. It must always be stated whether they are swept / turned to the right or left. Heraldic animals look to the right without mentioning (shield wearer view). The term belongs to the subject-specific vocabulary of heraldry.
