An opportunity describes the possibility of perceiving a certain event which, under other circumstances or at other times, is associated with disadvantages or is no longer perceptible at all. Typical of this term is the rare character that the event described in context brings with it.

A common phrase is “The opportunity is good”, which further emphasizes the unique or rare moment of the targeted event and is therefore often used in the advertising industry.

Other uses

The possibility of a toilet (mostly in public) is sometimes named as an "opportunity" .
