Geme-Ninlila

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Geme-Ninlila was one of the best attested persons at the court of King Sulgi in Ur . She took a prominent position in the Puzriš-Dagans cattle industry and was buried together with the royal couple, i.e. Šulgi and Šulgi-šimtī . Her title is not known, but she received a seal from the king in which she is referred to as his "beloved". It is therefore believed that she was one of his concubines . She also took on ritual tasks, which is only attested for Sulgi-šimtī besides her.
