The non-profit housing cooperative Neuss , GWG Neuss for short , is a building cooperative in Neuss . It is the largest private housing provider in Neuss. It owns (as of 2014) 3,400 apartments in Neuss and Kaarst and has 21 employees. Her portfolio includes, for example, the residential group Weberstrasse 6–20, Körnerstrasse 21–35 and Schillerstrasse 54–74 in Neuss .

history

It was founded on July 5, 1901 as a Neuss workers' housing cooperative. In the Third Reich , a merger with other Neuss cooperatives took place in 1942 (Arbeiterwohnungsgenossenschaft eGmbH, settlement cooperative for war-disabled people eGmbH, Neusser Spar- und Bauverein eGmbH and Neuss am Rhein 1900, Neusser housing cooperative for civil servants and private employees).

In 1990 she founded the GWG - Gesellschaft für Wohnungs- und Gewerbe-Bau GmbH as a wholly owned subsidiary. Since 2013 it has had its administration on the Neuer Markt in Neuss.
