Community of Protestant soldiers

The Association of Protestant Soldiers (GES) is an open association of military and civilian members of the Bundeswehr .

purpose

The core purpose is the strengthening of Christian values with the help of the military chaplaincy in comradely togetherness in the Bundeswehr. The GES sees itself as an additional lay element in Protestant military pastoral care. There are no membership fees. There is currently no apparent activity in the community. The website is not available.

history

The initiator of the community was the head military dean Dr. Heinz Zimmermann-Stock, who founded it in mid-2005 as a counterpart to the Catholic community, first chairman was Colonel Helmut Geier. The first ordinary general assembly took place on February 15, 2006 in the non-commissioned officers' home of the Feldwebel-Schmid-Kaserne in Rendsburg , where Colonel Klaus Kuhlen took over the chairmanship. The statutes were passed unanimously. The community had 400 members of both sexes in November 2009. In the further course the community was led by Sergeant Ralf Siegmann as executive chairman. Brigadier General Reinhard Wolski has been chairman since new elections in April 2011.
