Convalescence ( Latin reconvalescere , to become strong again, to become strong again , to valere , to flourish, to be whole , valescere to heal ), also convalescence , means recovery or healing.

The term is not to be equated with remission (decline, slackening) or restitution (recovery). Convalescence is one of the last stages in the recovery process. The symptoms - for example fever, weakness, dizziness, pain - gradually disappear until health is finally restored.
