Geological service
As geological surveys are called:
- in Germany the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR)
- and the geological state offices of the federal states
- in Austria the Federal Geological Institute (GBA)
- in Switzerland the (former) Federal Office for Water and Geology (BWG).
- In English-speaking countries, it is the respective Geological Survey .
