Georg Helm Prize

The Georg Helm Prize is usually awarded to three winners in autumn, whose scientific work (diploma theses, master theses or dissertations) can be submitted by any faculty of the Technical University of Dresden . The award board assesses the submitted work; this is composed equally of professors from the Technical University of Dresden and members of the Association for the Promotion of Students of the Technical University of Dresden .

The winners will be honored with a medal made from Meissen porcelain and will receive prize money of 2500 euros. The Rector of the Technical University and a member of the Friends' Association are both winners of the Georg Helm Prize.

The award is named after the mathematician Georg Helm (1851–1923), who taught at the Technical University of Dresden from 1888 to 1922 . The prize was donated as a science prize in 1995 by the Association for the Promotion of Students at the Technical University of Dresden .
