Georg Heerten

Georg Heerten (* 1949 ) is a German civil engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering, specializing in geosynthetics. From 2010 to 2014 he was chairman of the German Geotechnical Society .

Heerten studied civil engineering at the TU Hannover (focus on geotechnical engineering) and was a research assistant at the Franzius Institute of the University from 1974 to 1980 and received his doctorate in 1980 (geotextiles in hydraulic engineering - testing, application, probation). From 1981 he worked at the company Naue Fasertechnik in Espelkamp (from 2005 Naue) and was there managing director from 1984. From 2004 he was honorary professor at the RWTH Aachen at the chair of Martin Ziegler and the Institute for Geotechnics.
