Georges Rech (born October 29, 1929 in Paris ) is a French fashion designer .

biography

Georges Rech was born in Paris in 1929. In 1962 he opened a fashion house in Paris that bears his name. The idea behind this was to create prêt-à-porter fashion for the luxury segment. In 1973, Georges Rech created the brand Synonyms . It was a collection of clothing items that all matched, complement each other and could be exchanged within the collection. In 1983 he created a third brand, Unanyme , which mainly focused on menswear. In 1986 Rech created new uniforms for Air France's ground crew . In 1990 Rech retired.

When Georges Rech retired, the fashion house that bears his name sold to the British Courtaulds group. Courtaulds was again taken over in 1997 by the American Sara Lee Corporation.

In 2004, Georges Rech Japan was bought by the Japanese Itokin Group.

In 2005, the ready-to-wear group Apostrophe, which was founded in 1968, took over the Georges Rech brand.

The company's headquarters are now at 21, rue de Berri in Paris.
