Gerhart Eisler badge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gerhart-Eisler-Badge was an award of the radio of the GDR, which was donated in three stages (gold, silver and bronze) since 1975. The bronze plaque was endowed with 500, the silver with 1000 and the gold with 2000 marks. Erich Mielke was honored on February 8, 1975 on the occasion of the anniversary of the MfS in his capacity as Minister for State Security and was thus one of the first people to be honored.

The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 60 mm is not wearable. In the center it shows the portrait of Gerhart Eisler looking to the left as well as his signature in facsimile Gerhart Eisler . Again under it are his life data 1897 - 1968 to be read. On the edge, around Eisler's picture, it says: “For outstanding journalistic achievements”.
