Gersem

Bronze coin of the Gersem

Gersem was a Christian king of the Aksumite Empire in Africa who ruled at the end of the sixth century. He is only known from his coins, whereby either he or Armah was the last ruler who had coins minted at all. Since Armah has not received any gold coins, he was perhaps the later of these two rulers. The coins show the ruler both in profile and frontal.
