Gerta Schönbichler

Gerta Maria Schönbichler (born May 31, 1932 in Feldkirch ; † January 2, 2004 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and businesswoman. From 1974 to 1984 she was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Schönbichler passed the Matura and founded a specialist shop for office supplies in 1954. In 1985 she sold her office supplies store and subsequently became managing director of Kempfer-Merlin GmbH in Feldkirch.

Politics and functions

Schönbichler was a member of the Austrian People's Party and the sub-organizations of the Economic Association and the Women's Movement . In the ÖVP women's movement, she worked as a district chairwoman for the Bregenz district and state organizational officer, in the ÖVP she was also involved as a district party leader of the ÖVP Feldkirch and as a member of the district party leadership of the ÖVP Feldkirch. She was also a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg from 1973 to 1984 and also held the function of a member of the district party leadership of the ÖVP Feldkirch. In addition, from 1972 she was state chairman of the working group “Women in Business” and a member of the trade section of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, where she was also the chairwoman of the public committee. She was sworn in on November 4, 1974 as a member of the Feldkirch constituency in the Vorarlberg state parliament and was a member of this until November 6, 1984. There she was a member and deputy chairwoman of the Economic Committee, a member of the Social Policy Committee, a member of the Agricultural Committee and a member of the Culture Committee.

Private

Schönbichler was born as the daughter of the civil servant Emanuel Schönbichler and his wife Angela Schönbichler. She was divorced and childless throughout her life.
