General Association for Addiction Help

The Gesamtverband für Suchthilfe eV - Fachverband der Diakonie Deutschland (GVS) is a federal association based in Berlin , which brings together around 350 diaconal counseling centers, 30 specialist clinics and around 2,400 self-help groups from across Germany. The GVS is the only diaconal federal association for the field of addiction.

structure

The General Association for Suchthilfe eV consists of:

  • the board (9 members, chairman: Klaus Polack)
  • the GVS office (based in Berlin-Mitte, managing director: Corinna Mäder-Linke)
  • three specialist levels (core tasks, advanced and advanced training, self-help)
  • 6 specialist committees (counseling and treatment, drug help, Protestant state working groups ELAS, participation aids, further and advanced training, addiction prevention and company health care)
  • the self-help advisory board
  • Project groups and working groups

tasks

The GVS works together with its members in the areas of public relations, political representation, cooperation with other associations, quality development, implementation of project work and qualification. He is also politically active and lobbying.

  • at the German Association for Public and Private Welfare e. V.

  • in the Evangelical Federal Association of Livelihood Assurance and Participation eV (EBET)
  • in the working group on prostitution and human trafficking of the Diakonie
  • in the Media Dependency Association V.
