The rules of procedure of the Austrian Federal Council (GO - BR) regulate the procedure in the Federal Council and its committees, the rights and obligations of the members of parliament and the organs as well as the organizational processes. Although formally it is not a federal law (as it has not been passed by the National Council), it has the effect of one in accordance with Art. 37 Para. 2 B-VG. The Bundesrat issues its rules of procedure by resolution (two-thirds majority with at least half of the members present); they are announced by the Federal Chancellor in the Federal Law Gazette for the Republic of Austria (leg cit).
