The gwk Gesellschaft Wärme Kältetechnik mbH (gwk) is created a German company that concepts for the treatment of thermodynamic processes in industrial processing and provides appropriate engineering, components and system solutions. The business areas are temperature control technology, cooling technology (cooling systems), cooling technology (cooling machines), water treatment and tool technology (injection molding tools). The head office is in Meinerzhagen , Germany .

The technotrans group of companies successfully concentrates on applications within the framework of the core competence of liquid technology. With 21 locations and around 1,250 employees, it is present in all important markets worldwide. For many years, technotrans has been specifically tapping into new areas of application as part of its core competencies of cooling, temperature control, filtration and measuring and dosing technology. The strategy is geared towards sustainable, result-oriented development.

history

The company was founded at the end of 1967. The company was headquartered in Kierspe until June 2014. Since then, it has been producing machines and devices for cooling and heating technology in Meinerzhagen with a focus on the cooling process in the production of plastic films . Both with the blown film principle , in which the molten plastic is blown out of the extruder as a film tube , and with the flat film principle, in which the molten mass is pressed out through a slot, gwk already had a monopoly position for the in its early days Cooling. Hot air lines were also produced from the start. As part of extrusion systems, these ensure that hot air is blown onto the plastic, which is still liquid, as is required during a production phase. A third mainstay are cleaning and cooling systems for the cooling water of wire drawing machines.

In the 1970s, the automation technology Hebomat for injection molding (1972), cross-flow cooling towers with corrosion-free and water-resistant double cells (1973) and cooling machines for the production of soft foam car seats for the VW Golf (1976) were created. In 1980 the first film cooling system with heat recovery was presented, and the first container cooling system was built a year later. In the following years, the further development of temperature control devices led to the creation of the first temperature control block, a compact system for temperature control of injection molding tools .

In 1988 the gwk presented the multi-circuit temperature control unit integrat, which enables uniform and fault-free painting, even of uneven surfaces, without pretreatment. integrat was used by the automotive industry to paint bumpers in the original color of the car. In 1999, the development of systems for treating water for the requirements of production systems was excluded. In 2002 the tool technology business area was added with the system integrat series. As a further development of integrat, these devices control the flow rate and temperature in the tool areas of injection molding machines. The successor device integrat evolution has been manufactured since 2008. It enables faster temperature changes with less energy consumption.

In 2004 the gwk was awarded the Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Enterprises .

Business activity

In the 1970s, gwk supplied hot air lines to Iran for systems for the production of basic carpet fabrics. In Saudi Arabia, cooling systems were installed for pumping stations in seawater desalination plants. Other projects were carried out in Syria, Iraq and Egypt.

In 1988 the first foreign branch was established in Slough in the south of England, followed by the establishment of a German-Indian joint venture in 1997.

Today gwk has 17 branches in Germany, China and India. In addition, there are 33 agencies and service partners in 20 countries.

Over 400 employees develop, manufacture and install complete process solutions for temperature control and cooling in customer-specific designs at the Meinerzhagen location. In addition to the delivery of devices and systems, the scope of services also includes process engineering advice and the determination of operating costs.
