Society for German Research
The Society for Research on Germany was founded on April 19, 1978 in Berlin. It created a forum for research on Germany , where its members and other interested personalities meet for regular conferences and publish publications, thus promoting scientific collaboration. It was founded on the initiative of scientists from various research disciplines.
Chairman is Tilman Mayer , honorary chairman Karl Eckart .
At their meeting on October 12, 2017, the members of the Gesellschaft für Deutschlandforschung e. V. decided to resume their work after January 1, 2018 as the “Forum Deutschlandforschung” within the Deutsche Gesellschaft e. V. to continue.
