Society for environmental simulation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gesellschaft für Umweltsimulation eV ( GUS ) is a scientific and technical society dedicated to the topic of environmental simulation . It is based at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology in Pfinztal . It was founded in 1969.

Members are individuals and companies who either use environmental simulation methods for their product development or offer them as a service, as well as institutions and research facilities. Numerous environmental laboratories are networked via the CIS, which can be requested from the office in the event of special requirements.

The technical work takes place in working groups and at the annual meeting around spring. These serve the exchange of experiences and opinions in the technical application, as well as the scientific further development of the subject.

The CIS is a member of the European umbrella organization CEEES .

Differentiation from ecology

The environmental simulation deals with the effects of the environment in the broadest sense on products, as well as the effects of products on the environment. Ecological issues are one aspect of this. The model simulation of ecosystems or the like is not part of the environmental simulation.
