Water quality management ( water quality management ) is the purposeful organization of all human impacts on water properties [definition of terms in DIN 4045].

This includes stipulating for all users of a body of water the permissible level of discharges in terms of quantity and quality and the permissible withdrawals as well as the corresponding measures to comply with these requirements, e.g. B. Sewage treatment . But there are also measures on the water to improve the self-cleaning of the water.
