Regional hydrological service

In Germany, the Regional Water Service is a body set up by a federal state that determines, processes and collects hydrological data . The legal basis can be found in the respective state laws. The data are used for long-term environmental monitoring and form a planning basis for decisions and measures that have an impact on the water balance and water management .

As a rule, the Regional Hydrological Service sets up a measuring network that includes surface and groundwater measuring points .
