Spice preparation
According to the German Food Book , spice preparations or spice preparations are mixtures of spices , including spice flavors , with other flavoring ingredients such as salt , sugar and technologically necessary substances. They contain at least 60% spices, according to the definition of the food book, flavor-giving plant parts. Spice preparations are one of the seasoning ingredients .
Spice preparations are designated according to their composition, for example “onion and pepper spice preparation”, or according to their intended use, such as “spice preparation for roasted chicken”. They are referred to as spice preparations if they are intended for sale to further processors, as "spice preparations for meat sausage".
They are to be distinguished from spice mixtures that consist exclusively of spices.
