Forced reconnaissance

Forced reconnaissance (English Reconnaissance by fire , Russian разведка боем ) describes procedures of military reconnaissance through the use of weapons.

By soldiers

An openly acting troop corresponding to the opponent in terms of number and combat strength is deployed to provoke an insignificant or a sham battle . From the reactions of the opponent, conclusions can be drawn about his numerical strength, equipment, level of training or even his morale.

By fire

By firing on an area, e.g. B. the battlefield, or suspected or enlightened enemy positions with medium or heavy weapons, such as artillery , different conclusions can be drawn from the reactions of the enemy.
