Gezidong site

The Gezidong site ( Chinese  鸽子 洞 遗址 , Pinyin Gēzidòng yízhǐ , English Gezidong Site (Pigeon Cave Site)  - "pigeon cave site") is a cave site from the Middle Paleolithic , after which the Gezidong culture ( 鸽子 洞 文化 ) was named. It was discovered in 1956 in Harqin Left Wing Mongol Autonomous County in northeast China's Liaoning Province and excavated in 1973 and 1975 under the direction of the Liaoning Museum .

The Gezidong Faunal Community ( 鸽子 洞 动物 群 ) is named after the Gezidong site .
