The Gheschm overhead line crossing is the crossing of the Strait of Gheschm between the Iranian mainland and the island of Qeschm by a two-circuit 230 kV line , built in 1984 .
The main component of the Gheschm overhead line crossing are two 130-meter-high pylons , one of which is anchored on a caisson in the street of Gheschm. Both support masts have two cross members with spans of 36.20 and 13.80 meters to accommodate the six conductor cables . The span between the two 130 meter high masts is 1585 meters. Another special feature of the Gheschm overhead line crossing is that no earth wire is used, which is absolutely unusual with such high overhead line pylons.
