Gianduja
The gianduja is part of numerous folkloric events in the city of Turin as a fun maker .
The figure of Gianduja includes a three- cornered hat, red tied pigtails in the fashion of that time and brown-red clothing.
history
It was created in 1798 by the puppet manufacturer Gian Battista Sales, in the form of the figure or mask of Giròni . Because of the similarity in the Piedmontese dialect with the name of a brother of Napoleon Bonaparte (Gerolamo), this later Gianduja was named after a popular person nicknamed Gioan d'la douja , a simple, fun- loving farmer with a flushed face because of his love for wine.
