Gintaras Balčiūnas

Gintaras Balčiūnas (born April 2, 1964 ) is a Lithuanian business lawyer , lawyer and former Minister of Justice of Lithuania .

biography

In 1989 Balčiūnas graduated from the Law Faculty of Vilnius University and then worked in the public prosecutor's office. 1990–1993 he worked as a legal advisor to the Panevėžys City Council and headed the Panevėžys Privatization Commission as chairman (1992–1993), later he worked as a lawyer, then as a lawyer in a law firm. From 1998 to 1999 was Deputy Minister of Justice of Lithuania. On June 1, 1999, Gintaras Balčiūnas was appointed Minister of Justice . He served in the 9th and 10th governments (until the end of October 2000).

Since 1998 he has been a lecturer in civil , commercial and business law at the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius . Gintaras Balčiūnas was a co-founder of the leading Lithuanian business law firm "Jurevičius, Balčiūnas ir Bartkus ". Now he is a co-founder and partner of the business law firm "Balčiūnas ir Grajauskas".
